An unexpected surprise!

Carnival has started in Rio but we experienced our very own carnival parade shortly after our arrival in Bariloche. It was probably very D grade compared to Rio but we loved it!

Little boy who got me with his shaving foam!

How safe is a safe on wheels?
Our hotel last night was very seventies and slightly run down. Thankfully we have moved to our beautiful apartment today!

No expense was spared when finding matching replacement buttons for the lift. Nick was nervous pressing the red button to go to the second floor for breakfast. He wondered if the lift would self destruct!

Hasta la próxima vez San Martin de Los Andes

Our last full day in San Martin de Los Andes was wet which meant we were not able to do the volcano hike we really wanted to do.  Guess who didn’t bring their rain jackets because they were too heavy???? Today we move on to Bariloche, a four hour bus ride away. We have booked ourselves into a Spanish school for a week.

Omilen Antu our home for the last five nights!

Ron Ron, our new friend! Not quite as cute as our Cossy though!

“A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent!”

Spencer Browne’s Coffee House

We are enjoying being locals and have been spending our mornings in coffee shops, chatting and doing sudokus. Coffee never comes by itself, it is always with agua con gas and sometimes a tasty little treat. The waiters never rush you. We could probably sit in a cafe all day and no-one would care, something we are considering trying. Nothing happens in much of a hurry here. A great lesson for us all!

Abolengo, Av San Martin 806

The best chocolate we have tasted in town. Not that we have tasted that many! Nick would definitely recommend the menta! It is amazing how much his Spanish improves when he needs to order chocolate!

Almacen De Flores

On the corner of TTE Gran Roca and Moreno

Our favourite place for coffee so far. A beautiful lady runs this place. it is a cafe, florist and ladies clothing shop all rolled into one. What more could you want!

Cafe Deli

G.Villegas (at the lake end near the bus station)

Not our favourite coffee. Nick was yelled at in Spanish by the owner for using the upstairs toilets! In hindsight Nick wished he would have said, ” I can not speak spanish DH!”

We will not be back!

Nicholas has become a medialunaholic!

The coffee was good and the free chocolate that came with it was delicious!
