Two weekends ago we took the bus to Copacabana.

The weather was sunny and clear. Are we really in the middle of winter?

We had a whole boat to ourselves on the way to some small floating islands.

We did not realise fresh trout was on offer on the islands. It was a shame we ate lunch before we went!

Adea del Inca Hostal
our peaceful retreat.

We climbed to the top of Cerro Calvario.

The views were incredible and we got to appreciate how large the lake actually Is.

“Cerro Calvario (Calvary Hill) is a hill in Copacabana lined with small monuments representing the 14 Stations of the Cross. Pilgrims visit the Stations for prayer and penance and many tourists climb the hill for its fine views.”

As Bolivia's only beach, Copacabana was popular with the locals and a variety of activities were on offer.
